Christmas 2011

I'm on a roll :)
This was the most
Chill,
easy,
relaxing
Christmas of my adult life.
It was lovely.
Mama and Papa Hansen came out.
We love them.
Unfortunately they BOTH got sick on different days with different things.
But that didn't stop us from
Seeing 3 movies. (Footloose is awesome by the way)
Going out for Pizza.
Playing at the park.
Having a lovely and musical Church service.
Eating feast after feast.
Watching, Christmas Vacation, Just Friends and a Christmas Story.
Did I mention Korean food?
Wearing our new matching Griswold Family Christmas shirts.
Reading LOTS of books,
and having a wonderful Christmas morning full of love and laughter, and Jocelyn screaming "This is what I always wanted!" after every present.
Except when she got a sweatshirt. "Ahhh, I didn't want clothes."

Launching a rocket,
Caroling around the neighborhood and bringing fudge to the neighbors.
(Jocelyn refused to sing the same song over and over again and would sit on the step with her arms folded, Brooke however LOVED it and handed everyone the treat)
Playing with toy helecopters,
and just having a really lovely time together.
Thanks Mom and Dad Hansen.
We love you!

Merry Christmas 2011!

This year has been amazing and we have loved so many minutes of it. New wonderful house, new wonderful preschool, new wonderful friends and a wonderful new dog. There have been a lot of changes but I feel like we are really beginning to come into our own here in Eugene. I think we are all doing amazing and I am gratefully daily for my Heavenly Father and the blessing we have been given. These last few weeks have been crazy! So I apologize if you weren't one of the 12 people that got our fancy Christmas card ornaments. Apparently there is a bigger learning curb on my Silhouette Machine then I thought :) and in the middle of the night after ruining yet another page, I broke down and ordered this one from Costco.
Which is a picture I love!.. you just can't see our faces:)
If you got this picture we love you and we just thought you were super cool and would get our edgy artistic style.

Merry Christmas!

Picking out the tree with Grandpa

Hello friends, Here are some pictures from us picking out or tree before we chopped it down with a saw and made it all pretty like. I know this reads weird. I ate a lot of brownies tonight.
Happy December! PS My dad was here and it was awesome sauce.

Santa's Present

This was the doll house that I picked out for the girls. (spent hours, and hours searching online.)
Doll house countdown
Grandpa picked out the dolls.
Ben built the house and arranged the dolls.
I was sewing project runway style to finish their nightgowns on time.
Dad was wrapping presents.
Ben calls from the other room for me to come see.
I died laughing, he was so clever.
1. Tiana, wishing on a star.
2. Snow White, sleeping on the bed (post apple)
3. Rapunzel, letting her hair down the balcony.
4. Cinderella, working in the kitchen.
5. Belle and the Beast, dancing in the ballroom.
6. Ariel, in the bathtub. (that one was my favorite)
7. Jasmine, chilin' on the rug.

It was a big hit. I love it.

Good Day

Today was kind of wonderful.
I needed a wonderful day.
Maybe it was because I went to bed at 8PM the night before and slept until 7:30.
jealous?

Today
I read my scriptures
Yoga
Caught up on laundry
Made Molasses cookies with two little helpers and let them snitch as much as they want.
My house has never smelt so good... never.
Played, like really played with my kids, we had a tea party.
Brought Ben lunch and drove over to our house to check out the progress.
Made a fantastic side dish for the Ward Christmas Party
(mashed white sweet potatoes, red potatoes, rosemary, onions, garlic and butter)
It was fantastic
Discovered Season 1 of Grey's Anatomy is now on hulu.
Practiced counting with Jocelyn.
Did I mention my kids have not watched TV once today?

Now onto the party
gingerbread train
Seriously how cute is this train? They passed out kits for the kids to make?
I don't think I will ever make a regular gingerbread house again.
nativity 1
The live nativity.
Jocelyn still in nursery was not actually supposed to be in it. When I told her she burst into tears. My very sweet friend Lisa grabbed a piece of tulle, stretched out a hole and ta-da instant Angel! The whole thing was wonderful.
sleepy baby
Very sleepy baby up way passed her bed time.

Right now Ben is having a boys night, Tron with all the men from the activity.
I am here avoiding the dishes... and watching Grey's Anatomy.

Like I said, really good day.

POW 52

elves

Eight days with out a post.
I am fired.
Last week was busy, very busy.
Fed the Missionaries, lead a massive ornament making preschool party, hosted an "newbie" economics dinner, introduced foreigners to Apples to Apples, oh and the girls got hair cuts, like real ones. I may have cried a little.
This week will be... busy.
Can you believe Christmas will be in a 11 days?
I have no idea what I am getting Ben or my brother?
(what do you send to a migrant organic farm worker/5 star chef in Hawaii?)
Christmas cards have been addressed for almost a week sitting in my car waiting for three addresses, but mostly I am too chicken to take both girls to the post office.
I used the wrong picture anyway. It was very late at night.
Send us a card if you like. It would be nice to feel loved out here in Oregon.
Anyway it is 2:43 in the AM and Nicolas Cage is about to stab himself in the heart with a giant needle.
All of my Christmas presents Ben's family are finished and wrapped.
Oh he just did it.
I love this movie.

Ciao!

Christmas treasures

Found these for the girls at the thrift store for $15... total.
new dolls
I Love them and hope they do to. Girls when you are older and the dolls have been drawn on and glued back together know what they looked like in the beginning.
