the second month

*It snowed again on Saturday, playing in it today with Joce reminded me of the beach only it was much much colder.

January 2010 was hard. Not my favorite month, I think a lot of it had to do with my own attitude and selfishness. Sometimes I let the lack of a perfect situation be an excuse to do nothing, and January was full of less then perfect situations. I have been thinking a lot about my life and what I want to be better and what I want to be different, not in a material way (though I would love dream there for a while) but who I am as a person, my talents, my habits, my body, how I treat my husband and daughters, my friends my family. It is so easy to get discouraged especially when I look at all the amazing and wonderful people around me and in the blogging world and just not feel good enough. Maybe that's not the right word, I know that I can do more with my time and energy, and so this month I will start a new. and every month I will set monthly goals so that I can keep better track of my personal goals and be specific in how I plan to accomplish them. I am one of those people that if I don't write it down it is like it didn't happen.

Goals for February 2010

Live in the present
Read my scriptures everyday
find a way to serve Ben everyday
go to the gym or workout 5 days a week
eat way more vegetables and less chocolate
do more fun educational things with Jocelyn
spend one on one time with Brooke
finish Men are Mars Women are from Venus
Go to bed by 11pm
stick to the budget
study photography
Do one fun thing in DC as a family
I know that sounds like a lot but I have more than enough time, especially if I stop watching TV.

We don't have tv and it allows me to have SO much more free time. Unfortunately, I waste that time on the internet. I need to set a timer and only allow myself 30 minutes of fun internet time a day.
That will be my February goal. Thanks for the motivation.

Beautiful list! If I could do HALF of these in February, I would feel like women/wife/mother of the year. I love it.

Hey Sweetie! Take it easy on yourself! Don't crash and burn with perfectionism...just try to do a few. I've been in a funk lately because of the first trimester tiredness/sickness. I feel like I get a free pass to do nothing and then get in a fluster when I feel I am so behind. As far as photography, I am right there with you. I have resolved to shoot in manual only for February, and am going to cover my screen and see what happens. What do you think? I am tired of feeling like an amateur flipping to aperture priority all the time :)

If only there was a way to eat veggies+chocolate and have them cancel each other out.

You're amazing...even when you don't think so...the rest of us are in awe. =)

FEBRUARY is the best month! A Great month full of good goals. It doesn't get any better.
